All the lonely people

All the lonely people -

is a line from Eleanor Rigby by the Beatles, or more precisely: by Paul McCartney and John Lennon. But nobody knows exactly what and how much comes from whom. It doesn't matter. The song is about lonely people.

Here is what the New York Times says: Quite possibly the most crushingly sad Beatles song ever, “Eleanor Rigby” is a compassionate, vividly detailed meditation on loneliness and an ode to the sort of person who is not usually the subject of a pop song. (June 2, 2026 in The Amplifier newsletter)

And as far as my picture is concerned: It's a turning point in my work. A new path. Let's see how (and if) it continues. There they stand, the lonely people, lost and rigid, with their cuts and injuries and scars, and the world is burning all around them.

All the lonely people - a raw, expressive piece with aggressive brushwork and sharp diagonal cuts, this image evokes an urban wall of sound and fury. Vivid reds, deep purples, and electric blues pulse against a black backdrop like graffiti in motion. The emotional charge is unmistakable — this is a portrait of movement, rebellion, and rhythm. What makes it unique is its urgency; it doesn’t just ask to be seen — it insists on being felt.

By the way: I recently saw this painting in a virtual room, really big, 180 x 180 cm. And it was clear that this image simply needed a large format to have its full effect.
