Top Of The World

Top Of The World is of course not just a very famous Carpenters song from 50 years ago, but also a feeling that you sometimes have - hopefully! I've forgotten when and how this picture was taken. But it hangs in my living room and I'm happy every time I see it.

A luminous red wash fills the frame, soft-edged and glowing, like the inside of a sun-drenched eyelid or the curve of a distant planet. At its core lies a mysterious, darker fold — suggestive of shadow, form, or entrance. The image hums with warmth, weightlessness, and elevation. Top of the World evokes a sensation more than a place — a heady, elemental awareness of presence, light, and immensity. And - if you can see it - happiness.
