I hear a call

I hear a call is a beautiful song by Emmylou Harris. It was a while ago, I only knew her by name. One day, when I went to empty the garbage, I found a handful of cassettes in the bin. Our neighbor, an American, had thrown them away. I saved the cassettes, listened to them and became a fan.

Blades of green stretch horizontally in fluid motion, as though seen through the window of a speeding train. Flashes of red and blue emerge faintly, like memories buried in the landscape. The blur is both soothing and urgent — implying a journey, or the passing of time too quickly to grasp. I Hear a Call feels like a fleeting encounter with something important — half-heard, half-seen, but deeply felt.
