For all we know - but what do we know? What can we know? And do we need to know? Oh, philosophers should deal with that. I know, with Socrates, that I know nothing. Except that paradoxes fascinate me. And black and white images that are not even black and white.
An abstract sweep of black and white drifts across a weathered concrete surface, like a fading echo of graffiti or a forgotten gesture. The horizontal line running through the middle evokes time or separation, while the organic forms rise like smoke or memory. For All We Know speaks to uncertainty and presence — what was, what might have been — etched in erosion and silence.
And, of course, I love this song, especially in the version of Shirley Bassey and the very popular version of the Carpenters.
