You must absolutely...
...drive
a Fiat 500. These beautiful cars seat 4 or even 5 very small people. They have about 20 hp and run on a good day nearly 60 miles an hour. The gearbox - stick shift of course - is not synchronized. When you want to go from, say, the 3rd gear into the second, you have to make the motor roar, feel your way in and release the clutch with lots of delicatesse. You can open the roof - it's made of canvas - and enjoy the wonderful cabrio feeling in summer. If you don't find a parking space just move a dust bin. It will easily fit in. They, sniff, stopped production in 1975...
But there's hope: A new version of the Fiat 500 is announced for 2007!
And it's here! Have a look at it!
...try
a leaf blower once. Imagine a beautiful early Saturday morning. All your neighbours had a hard week and want to sleep in. Peace on earth. That is the moment you have been waiting for. You pull your leaf sucker out of the garage and WRAMMMMMMM! start it. And walk around your lawn, in total peace of mind, and BLAST AWAY like a mini-Katrina. And don't forget to make a break every 5 minutes so your neighbours can relax and begin to hope it's over. As soon as they have closed their eyes again - WRAMMMMMMM!And nobody can complain. After all, your just being a good citizen. Keep the place clean and tidy. And nice. Has to be done, hasn't it?
...ride
a merry-go-round once again. Why?
Just yesterday I found something in a book:
The following piece was written by an eighty-five-year old man who learned that he was dying. It is particularly relevant.
"If I had my life to live all over again, I'd try to make more mistakes next time. I wouldn't be so perfect. I would relax more. I'd limber up. I'd be sillier than I've been on this trip. In fact, I know very few things that I would take so seriously. I'd be crazier. I'd be less hygienic.
"I'd take more chances, I'd take more trips. I'd climb more mountains, I'd swim more rivers, I'd go more places I've never been to. I'd eat more ice cream and fewer beans...
..."If I had to do it all over again, I'd start barefoot earlier in the spring and stay way later in the fall. I'd ride more merry-go-rounds. I'd watch more sunrises, and I'd play with more children, if I had my life to live over again.
"But you see, I don't."
